Summer reading programme

December 13, 2010

The Big Bush Read (children aged 2-13) and the Read Plus (children aged 11-18) programmes are well under way now.  But there are still some places left.

The Big Bush Read involves doing 4 oral book reports, and children are given a small incentive gift for each one.  On completion, they are invited to a finale party where they are presented with a certificate, a brand new book to keep, and a medallion.

The Read Plus programme involves doing written book reports; for every three reports done, a free new book is earned (up to a maximum of six free books).  Fun activities just for Read Plus participants are also offered.

Eketahuna Community Library  has 4 places in the Big Bush Read and 2 places in the Read Plus available.  Woodville Community Library has 2 places in the Big Bush Read.   Registration is free. All you need is a library card and a parent, so come to the library and snap up those places while you can.

If your children have missed out, please do put their names on the waiting list – if we have drop-outs, their places become available.  This list also helps us decide on the number of places to offer for next years programme – so if we have a big wait list, next year we will know to accommodate more children.
