NZ Asthma Awareness Week – 27 April to 3May.

April 28, 2011

Balloon Day, the main fundraising and activities day, is this   Friday, 29 April 2011.

1 in 4 kids struggles to blow up a balloon.     Asthma won’t let them.

This week, New Zealanders are being reminded that 1 in 4   children in this country has asthma.  For example, in Wellington, its estimated that about 23,000 children have asthma, which is roughly the population of Johnsonville.

The new principal sponsor of the Asthma Foundation, HRV, together with the other principal sponsor, Mitre 10, hope to help the Foundation realise it’s goal of getting as much buy-in as possible this year from key supporters.

Mitre 10 and Mitre 10 MEGA stores have collection boxes at their checkouts throughout Asthma Awareness Week. Shoppers can make a donation and take away one of our red lollipops. The shops are displaying our posters and balloons. HRV are working with the Foundation on Balloon Day activities nationally and regionally as well as providing a number of staff as volunteers.

You can either text PUFF to 4560 to donate $3 or make an automatic $20 donation on:
