The true story of Enaiatollah Akbari, as told to Fabio Geda

Afghanistan. A country at war. A country of Muslims. A country opposing the West. This book will open your eyes and your hearts to the plight of the ordinary Afghan.

This is the engaging true story of one boy’s solo journey to find a home where he is accepted for just being. It begins when Enaiatollah is 10 years old, and finishes when he is 21. I am certain that his story will continue.

It depicts a lifestyle so unfamiliar to the majority of us. A culture where children are put to work at a very young age, where children are at risk from ethnic cleansing, from human traffickers, from just living.

Enaiatollah is a very special and resourceful young man. He also has a very special mother who recognised the sacrifice she would have to make in order to keep her son safe – or as safe as he could be in Afghanistan.

Please read this story. I think we all need to be reminded that those who suffer the most in wars are those most like ourselves.
