Prince of Dorkness

“Diary of a wimpy vampire: prince of dorkness” by Tim Collins

My favourite teen vampire is back!  Nigel Mullet was transformed into a vampire at the age of 15, and he is now 101.  Unfortunately, repeating High School interminably has not been a happy time for Nigel.  Worse,  he couldn’t even get a girlfriend for 80 years and he still has to rely on his “parents” to get blood for him.  (He has had a go at getting his own, but he just isn’t that kind of vampire).

In “Because vampires have feelings too”, he met Chloe. The confidence from having a girlfriend enabled Nigel to finally achieve vampire strength, speed and beauty.  Now, Nigel starts the new school term with newfound popularity.  Things are going great until Jason steals Chloe off him, he loses his powers, she is accidentally turned into a werewolf, and a new vampire moves into their coven…

This hilarious diary is like a mash-up of ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ and ‘Twilight’, and I think the series is fantastically witty and entertaining. Maybe one day Nigel will grace the small screen, but until then, I can’t wait for the next instalment!
