Meet Lisbeth’s new best friend…

December 30, 2011

“The deadly touch of the tigress” by Ian Hamilton (Sphere, 2011)

Move over Lisbeth Salander, Ava Lee is in town!

Ava Lee is a petite young Chinese-Canadian forensic accountant; a specialist at recovering stolen money, through whatever means necessary.  Adept at the martial art, Bal Mei, Ava can handle herself.  Which is fortunate….

She is engaged to track five million dollars, conned out of an influential Chinese family by some shady characters. Travelling across the world, impersonating officials to get information, Ava ends up face-to-face with the corrupt quasi-leader of Guyana, and thence ensues a cat and mouse game of who can get the money first, whilst escaping retaliation.

Even with Ava Lee’s razor-sharp intelligence, it seems that even she is not going to be able to succeed in this task, and possibly not even escape with her life.

Once you start reading, you won’t be able to stop. Highly recommended to fans of the Millenium trilogy and anyone who likes strong female characters, with an intelligent and adventurous, action-filled plot.

This book is the first in a series of (so far) six novels.  Ian Hamilton homepage
