February 4, 2012

Tararua District is located in south-east North Island in beautiful New Zealand.

Untouched landscape, adventure, heritage attractions, art galleries, windfarms, Tui Brewery, Pukaha Mt Bruce (see the rare white kiwi) and much more can be found here. Best brown trout fishing and great hunting. Accommodation to suit all budgets.

Tararua District is between Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa district. It encompasses Norsewood in the north, to Eketahuna in the south (1 1/2 hours driving time one end to the other), and from the Ruahine and Tararua Ranges in the middle of the island to the East Coast.

Travelling from Napier to Wellington down the east coast, you pass straight through all four main centres of Tararua – Dannevirke, Woodville, Pahiatua and Eketahuna.
