Appreciating Susan and Alison

February 6, 2012

We are such curious people and love to know how other people tick, so biographies are just the answer especially when the personalities are household names and faces we come to know and love through the media.

Two autobiographies I couldn’t put down were of women I admire: Susan Boyle and Alison Holst.  They are both down to earth, genuine folk who have made it big but still touch us with their humility and their talents that they so readily share.

I highly recommend The Woman I was Born to Be by Susan Boyle  and Dame Alison Holst’s 100th publication, A Home-Grown Cook : the Dame Alison Holst story, by herself and Barbara Larson.
