Celebrate children

March 1, 2013

National Children’s Day is on Sunday 3 March 2013.  Children are born pure and with mana. They are a gift, and as grown ups, we have the job of nurturing our kids to be strong and well.

If you’re near Tararua district, you could take your children to these events (entertainment provided, but bring your own picnics and seating):

Children’s Day ‘Family Picnic in the Park’ on Sunday 3 March at

  • Sunday 3 March from 10 am – 2 pm at Carnival Park, Glasgow St, Pahiatua

“Wood you bring your family to a picnic in the park?  Yeah you wood”  Woodville the place where you wood

  • Sat 2 March from 5 – 10 pm at Fountaine Square, Woodville

Children enrich our lives in many ways. Even though they push our buttons sometimes (or most of the time actually), we generally still appreciate having them around.

What can you do to celebrate the children in your life?  Possibly simply spend more time with them, doing activities like cooking (ulterior motive here – teach them how to cook so they can do better breakfasts on Mother’s or Father’s Day), playing games, gardening, building something, sports or craft.  Or you could go camping, even in the backyard, or take a trip to somewhere fun like Waihi Falls. Or dedicate all of your time that day to doing whatever they want (within reason).

For some ideas, why not check out some of these titles:
