Tararua youth! Want to learn a trade?
The Tararua Training Taskforce (Triple T) have secured a major opportunity for our youth in 2014.
Urgently Required 20 job-seeking Tararua young people to Join our First Level 4 NZQA Carpentry Course in 2014
Triple T – supported by Mayor Roly Ellis, Councilor Shirley Hull and the Pahiatua Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with Ag Challenge – has secured approval to launch its first Level 4 NZQA carpentry course in the Tararua District early next year and are seeking candidates to join the program.
Late in 2012 Ag Challenge was asked by the government to put a proposal forward as to how we could provide additional places on our carpentry pre-trade courses. We are pleased to announce that the proposal was approved by the minister and sees us offering an additional 50 places on our pre-trade programme.
Supporting the Christchurch Rebuild
Ag Challenge in April of 2012 started a program specifically funded by government to support the Canterbury Rebuild and in April of 2013 we will have 12 students graduating. These students are focused on working in Christchurch.
It’s through established relationships that see’s us facilitate employments opportunities with local and national firms who are working in Christchurch. These students have completed a programme that includes all of the theory requirements of an apprenticeship. The programme whist theory in nature is structured to include a 50/50 split between theory and practical.
