NZ author’s thrilling Young Adult series
Written by New Zealand author Anna MacKenzie, ‘The Sea-Wreck Stranger” is about a girl named Ness and her brother Ty. Both of their parents died when they was younger so they had to go and live with their uncle Marn and their aunt Tilda and their daughter Sophie. Even thought Ness was always being beaten she never stopped working. She only stops working when she goes down to the bay ( which is out of bounds as the council says anything from the sea is evil) to remember her parents. But when Ty, Sophie and Ness find a stranger washed up on the beach, they don’t know what to do.
In the end they help him and save his life but this creates endless problems for Ness. I liked this book because it had a gripping story that always pulled you in and you couldn’t put the book down. This was the first in a trilogy, and I can’t wait to read the second book, ‘Ebony Hill’.
